Okay, every year we change the filter on our Kenmore Elite and every year we have to call out a repair person to get the water running again. It seems they do something at the back of the fridge to get in going again.

I just changed the filter today and no water. Water is entering the filter but does not seem to be coming out. Green light comes on at water dispenser. I followed the instructions in the manual to the letter and it still does not work.

Is there something I should do at the back of the fridge to get the water going?

They may be bleeding the air out of the system. Try holding switch in for several minutes.

Do you mean hold in the water dispensing switch in the front or something in the back?

I stood there for about 5 mins and no water. Any other suggestions?

Reset your water filter indicator light - Most new refrigerators come equiped with an indicator light that notifies you when it is time to change your water filter. HotPoint Refrigerators - Press and Hold the Reset Button for around 8 Seconds.

Jenn-Air Refrigerators - Press and Hold The Light and Lock Buttons until the Water Filter light flashes.

Kitchen Aid Refrigerators - Press and Release the Light Button 5 times Quickly.

Maytag Refrigerators - Press and Hold The Light and Lock Buttons until the Water Filter light flashes.

Samsung Refrigerators - Press and Hold the Ice Type and Child Lock Buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.

Whirlpool Refrigerators - Press and Release the Light Button 5 times Quickly.
