Default No ice...Water works fine
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: gs6nbexrs00
Age: 1 - 4 years

Ok, so my side by side Whirpool Gold fridge was working fine. I dumped out my door mounted ice box into an ice chest to go camping. I get back and nothing. Wait 2 days still nothing. I've looked in and didn't see anything stuck in there. I've searched old post and everybody always asks if water is filling trays. How do I know? Can anyone guide me through this? Please? (not red cause I'm mad, but because it's going to be 100 today!)

Am I on my own? I just opened the cover and put my fingers in the ice mold and there is a little bit of water in there. It's liquid. What does that mean? The freezer is still freezing.

Still know input from the board? I squirted water into the mold with a turkey baster and came back a few hours later and it is frozen. But it hasn't even attempted to move it. It's as if the unit is off but the light is on. It's not squirting water in or moving anything. Whats next? Any ideas? Am I the only on on the board?

found out one thing to try, remove the back cover cardbord at the bottom, check out the water valves un-plug power supply remove the water valve braket & change the elec. wire's unplug and then plug the to the other valve then check, the water might fill ice tray
if this works you may have a bad valve , have some one ckeck if the watre works while you hold the wire to the valve because the wire clip is a different size but you can see if the valve work & if the water works. just a try .

that sounds expensive. Especially if it's only a small part that needs replaced.

Not too expensive afer all. It looks like it's around $150. Is it an easy job?
