Default New Valve, New Control Module, No Ice
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.9751753
Age: More than 10 years

Thanks to all who have posted and replied. The information has been very helpful in understanding how it works. I replaced the modular control and water valve, and have checked that water is going into the valve. No water comes out of the valve. Any ideas?

The problem originally started when we had to clean a spill. I emptied the freezer, unplugged the unit and let it thaw. When I plugged it back in, it wouldn't make ice.

I'm fairly mechanical, but a combination of lack of time and lack of electrical knowledge make me the perfect candidate for a "parts replacer" type of guy.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Bill

Default Also

I should have mentioned that I have water into the valve, and that the line up to the freezer appears clear (I can blow through it.) Also, I tried (before water valve) to hair dryer the white plastic supply line on the inside of the freezer.

Thanks again,

Bill

Take the electrical wires on the water inlet valve and swap them with the wires on the on the water dispenser line valve. That is if you have a water dispenser. Then try the water dispenser and see if the water goes into the ice maker.

Thanks much for the reply. I don't have a water dispenser option. Any other ideas?

Seriously, thanks.

Default Update

The freezer is cold enough, and I manually put water into the ice maker. It froze. The fingers have not pushed the ice out (nor has anything else happened that Iknow of). Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bill
