Unhappy New Model for Refrigerator Water Valve
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 363.9512711
Age: More than 10 years

I had to order a new water valve assembly for my Kenmore refrigerator (Part No. WR 57X0098). The problem that I am having is that the manufacturer has redesigned the valve assembly. The new part , which just came in, does not have threaded connections for the outlet and the connections appear to be "plug ins". What type of connections do I need to buy to make the part work. It looks like I may have to cut the threaded female connections off of the tubing going to the water dispenser and ice maker. However, before I begin to tackle this, can I get everything I need at the hardware store?

Appreciate any assistance that may be available.

You do not need anything to hook the valve up.

You are right you have to cut the threaded connections off.

Push the tubes in the opening on the valve while pushing in on the white fitting that are in the valve.

These are known as quick disconnect fittings.
