What is the part number to the ice maker that you received?

Did you install the old shut off arm in the new ice maker and is it turn on?

Yes I installed the arm, yes it is on.
If it helps the power was off at our house for 8 hours and when it came back on we could smell burning plastic in the freezer and the ice maker never filled with water. I saw something on the red wire to the ice maker that looked like a fuse, I guess I will have to see if I can get it out and check it.

Default Same Issue

I am having the same issue with an Amana unit; I think the part number on the ice maker is the same. I also have switched the ice maker with no luck. Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Also, what is the bearing that you need to use from the old unit on the new unit when you replace your ice maker?

Just go to the back of the fridge and use a "cheater cord" to plug in 115 volts to water solenoid. Turn it on for 9 seconds. Water should fill up icemaker mold. If not, check the water line to the valve. If water, check the fill tube in the freezer, probably frozen up.

Default Fridge is warm now, still no ice

I had a new development, when I came home I noticed it was 58 degrees in the fridge.

I applied voltage to the water valve and the ice maker filled with water so I know my water line is not clogged.

Could there be an adjustment on the ice maker that is fully closed, something to set the size of the ice cube? Or could it be that the ice makers sold here are just no good?

Your icemaker mold temperature must be below 15 degrees for the icemaker to work!! Check for frozen back panel in freezer. If not frozen, or partially frozen you have refrigeration problems.

refrigeration problems? Is that expensive? Is it time to scrap the unit?

Maybe big bucks if compressor is bad! It's been my experience that the" newer" compresors do not wear out but they can burn out on power surges or lightning.
Lots of times the compressor will leak internally. The leak could be minor or major. Worth the money to get it checked by a refrigeration technician.
You can pull freezer panel and look at the evaporator frost pattern. Totally frosted with heavy frost=defrost problem, partial frost=low refrigerant or bad compressor, only small amount of frost=clogged capillary or bad compressor.
