Default New gasket wrinkled
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: arb190zcc
Age: 1 - 4 years

I bought a new freezer gasket because the old one had a tear. I was excited when I saw the package, because the box was about the same size of the freezer door. The packaging touted how it was specially designed for shipping the gasket. When I opened the package, I was disappointed that the gasket was folded in half. If the box had been about 2 inches bigger, the gasket would not have needed to be folded. Now there are wrinkles on the vinyl part that covers the magnet right where it was folded. I tried heating it with a hair dryer and the wrinkles got real soft, but there is no where for them to go. I now get ice build up in my frost-free freezer in the two locations where the gasket was folded. The magnet part appears to be nice and straight with no bowing, but again, it is the vinyl that covers it that is wavy. What can I do?

If you can not get the wrinkle out of the gasket you will like have to replace it and send the other one back as defective.

Usually the gaskets are just looped in the box so they don't get bent.

Here is a link to your fridge model arb190zcc.
