Question Mystery Montgomery Ward Upright Freezer
Model Number: 4303

I recently bought a house, including the previous owners' Montgomery Ward upright freezer, model 4303.
We left it plugged in for a while and there was lots of ice build-up. Since defrosting it, the only other problem is the gasket around the door. It's a bit hard (ie, not soft and pliable like the gasket on my refrigerator door) and stained with mildew. I tried cleaning the gasket with some success but have a few questions:

Does anyone have any idea how old this freezer might be?

Should I replace the gasket, and if so, would it be safe and easy to remove and replace it myself? The door seems to be held together with screws.
And where can I buy such a gasket

Many thanks

That model# will not work, you probably will have a lot of trouble getting a new gasket. Only solution is to measure the gasket and buy one with the same dimensions. Make sure it is the same type gasket.
