Default My maytag repair man is very busy!
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MTB2156GEW
Age: 5 - 10 years

I'll NEVER EVER AGAIN buy a maytag anything!

OK, repair man just left, second time this week. Time to find out if this blasted fridge is just a bad model? Recalled? What?

I THINK we bought it about 6 years ago. We got the last one, floor model. It needed repair right away and the store decided to call it a lemon and replaced it with a new one they had shipped in from another store.
Great right?

Not long after that, needed a freezer fan replaced. After that, it was the hole in the freezer for an ice maker we never bought. He plugged that perminantly.
It's always dribbled water on the floor. Don't know what's up with that.

It's been whinning lately and finally gave out last week. This time it was a relay plug down on the bottom. Five minutes work, charged me 40 bucks for the part, ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY dollars total for the service call! And it STILL doesn't work!
He just left again, had to replace the same fan that went out before. This time I got a part number from him. (And he is supposed to call me with a part number for that plug.) The fan is part 61005935. This site sells that part for less than 50 bucks, I got socked 79.00. Is that normal? I think it's time to fix this thing myself!

So.... do I have a piece of garbage? Our last fridge was an old Kenmore a friend gave us. (Remember that horrible ovacado green? That old.) That thing ran like clockwork for ages. NEVER needed anything other than parts for the door. We decided to get a bigger, more efficiant BETTER one.
BAD IDEA!

Sorry that you have had a bad experience with your Maytag.

You may want to contact the manufacture to see if there is any warranty on your parts.

Here is a link for future reference of your Maytag fridge model number MTB2156GEW.
