Default Moving Refrigerator
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GD25DIXHW02
Age: 5 - 10 years

I soon plan to give my Wirlpool refrig to my adult son. He thinks laying in on side for transport is OK, I don't. Please advise and give technicalities to pass to my son.

Thanks,
Tom Schneider

I wouldn't lay one on it's side or front or back. The oil in the compressor will travel through the sealed system and should be stood back up for a couple of days and then maybe the oil will be back in the compressor where it should be. Maybe not then your would need a repairman to recover and recharge the system.
Here's results from a google search.
