Do I need to drill into fridge??? I hope not.
Please let me know. THanks

On many refrigerators it's possible to support the rear portion of the top crisper shelf using bailing wire. I know it sounds ugly, but it works and will get you by until you can find some other way to fix the broken shelf support.
1. Remove the shelf.
2. Cut yourself about 3 feet of galvanized bailing/fence wire. The shelf will be hanging from this wire when you're done. Wrap one end of the wire around the rear shelf somehow and twist the wire together securely. On my Maytag, the rear of the shelf has two cantilevered supports sticking out which work perfectly for this.
3. Put the shelf back in the refrigerator with the wire pointing upward.
4. Feed the wire through one of the two steel upper shelf support brackets on the rear wall. Pull the wire taught, then twist it together securely and you're done! |
