Default Maytag ice2o digital board going crazy
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MFI2067AES
Age: Less than 1 year

I have an Ice2O Maytag refrigerator that has gone crazy. The digital panel in the front has all of its lights flashing and the ice dispenser door is opening and closing. Does anyone know the culprit of this problem? I tried replacing the board and face electrical components but it did not work. would it be the ice dispenser?
thanks

I have the exact same problem, but sorry, no solution. I waited on hold for 45 minutes with Maytag parts hoping someone would help...no luck.

I have ordered the board from PartSelect hoping that would fix it. I will install it when it arrives, but according to your experience, that may not fix the problem. Is there anyone who can tell us what the problem is???? Other consumer complaint sites have listed this as a common problem, but I can't find any good answers as to how to fix it. Help please!

Try unplugging the door dispenser electrical connector. Take apart info at partselect.com

Thanks Appguy, I'll try it. In looking around the forums a little more, I see that there is also a higher voltage board located behind the refrigerator that seems easy enough to replace, but costs about $150. That will be the next step if unplugging or replacing the low voltage board does not fix it.
At least I can tell the service tech that they have already been replaced if I have to call someone out to fix it, and save some time.

Update: Unplugged and re-connected all electrical connections from both panels, but no change in status. Not mentioned before, but refrigerator temps are not up to settings and ice-maker not making ice. I think it's time to call a local tech so I don't lose everything in the refrigerator and freezer.

This Maytag cost about $2,500., and is just over 1 year old.....pathetic. Maybe a fresh round of bonuses and stock options for Maytag/Amana executives would solve the problems.

MAYTAG Model # MFI2568AES
Back in business. Yesterday I called a local appliance repair company and paid $35. for a service call for the tech to tell me what I already knew. They offered to order and install a new HV board for around $300. I said thanks, I'll take my chances on my limited skills and do it myself. Today I recieved my HV Board that I ordered from Maytag parts, PartSelect.com was out of stock, (cost: $149. plus $7. for expedited shipping....they said three business days, but it got here in one).

It could not be easier to install. You can't even possibly cross the plugs, they all have different number pins. Anyway, refrigerator/ice maker/water and ice dispenser/flapper and digital panel all working again. After the board is installed, it must be programmed. Make sure that directions come with the part, and that your code tag is still on the inside right of your refrigerator.

For anyone else with the same problem, good luck. I will be contacting anyone and everyone that I can at Maytag to complain about this problem which apparently is wide-spread on these models. I hope you will too.

Default Maytag ice2O repair

Over the weekend my Maytag went crazy also. Flashing lights, Ice door flapping, and had to unplug the pannel. Called the service people on Monday and they wanted to charge me $80.00 just to come out. I called Maytag to find out the cost on that panel and in the meantime(while I was on hold) did a search for the part and found a couple of forums of people having the same problem. Well to make things short I went back to customer service to let them know that there are more people with this problem. The agent got authorization right there to repair my Maytag H2o at no cost to me. Hopfully this will help you. Maybe they will repair alot more of these at their cost. My fridge is about 4 months out of warranty.

Default Maytag ice2O repair ( Warranty Issue )

I read the thread complaints and had the same problem flashing lights flapping ice door. As well I am about 4 months out of Factory Warranty
I called Maytag Factory Services and was directed to A&E Factory service to make the repairs.
A&E was out here the next morning they diagnosed the problem immediately and proceeded to give me an estimate for 424.00 this included 255.81 for the faulty part an HV Board part # 12920710 Maytag sells this part for 149.99
I called Maytag Customer Service and taklked to a very helpful CS Agent named Grant.
I explained thate situation to him and how dissapointed I was in A&E for PRICE GOUGING.
He looked into this problem and Maytag covered the entire cost of the repair this is a known problem and Maytag should cover this repair for others
