Default Makes no ice
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS20ZRG
Age: More than 10 years

hello All,
Hope someone can help.Had a problem with the water dispenser working slowly.I replaced the water valve and that did the job.
Now all of sudden the ice maker stopped working. The arm is down,so it can work.Wonder what if it is on a or sensor to tell it to start???

i thought I may have disconnected something in the process of removing and intalling the new valve.Did not see anything out of the ordinary.

so,I hope that some will have a answer

thank you John Bauman

Try shutting the ice maker off and waiting 10 minutes and then turn it back on.

If this does not work check the micro switches in the ice maker to make sure that they are working.

Hi Baumanjohn42,
turn the t/stat to off and then unplug the unit. Also, if you can, make sure the electrical connector on the valve and on the ice maker are secure by unpluging and repluging them togather again.

Pull icemaker and check for a frozen filler tube. If ok verify the freezer temperature is below 15 degrees. Also make sure you plugged in the wires to the solenoid for the icemaker

Ok,I pulled out the frig and look to see if the plugs are connected. From what I can see,the rear plug was not completly, half plug in.

wonder how long it will take for it to kick in and start it's cycle???

Well,it's still not working.Usually you always hear a noise, have'nt heard geard it in awhile.is there a senser thast tells it to start making Ice????

So, guess the next step,is to remove the ice maker.I can a square cover on the end.Guess that would be where the Micro sw's might be.

Is there a diagram out there as to the proper way to remove the ice maker???
