Default Loud, bump gets quieter
Brand: Frigidaire
Age: Less than 1 year

Hi,
We bought a Frigidaire freezer that was delivered today about noon. They plugged it in and seemed OK, no loud noise just like refridgeator noise.
About 2 hours later it sounds very loud like vibrate then like cycle to quiter noise then back to loud.
Let it run for about 2 more hours and looked at paperwork.
Paper says about weak floor make noise. It's sitting in kitchen on tile floor on conerete slab, don't think it's weak.
When bumping to see if uneven sitting noise decreased then cycle back louder.
Then paper said about un-level: Put level on top front and side, both showed level.
Called place got it and told about noise. They first said it was a warning buzzer. Explained was like vibrate noise, not buzz. Only way stop is turn freezer off. Then they said normal. Let it run til morning and if still noise to call back.

Got curious and posted here. Any info is appreciated.
Later,
Mike

The sound is likely coming from the compressor or one of the lines vibrating.

When it is making the noise put you hand on the compressor and see if it stops.

I'm guessing that this is an upright freezer.

If it is and it is a frost free model it could be the drain pan vibrating.

Thanks for reply and information.
Yes, upright freezer. It has improved. The next day, reason of purchase we had ordered a fairly large amount of frozen food items. My wife thinks part of noise may of been wire selves vibrating.
Again, thanks,
MikeP
