The diagram of the refrigerator door is in the attached file.

I would like to tighten my refrigerator door handle but can not find a way to get at the screws(#5) holding the handle holder(#12) to the door.

I have been able to remove the
trim end caps (#29);
handle / handle holder screws(#34)
But neither the trim or the handle is moving.

Any help you could give me would be much appreciated!

Step by step for anyone else attempting this...

1)Remove the silver cap (#29) from the top of the white trim. Even though is might be pretty tight, I would suggest trying to rock it back with your thumbs before taking a tool to it. It is, after all only plastic.

Note: The trim(16) is secured to the trim track(28) by bumps in the trim. There are about 5 bumps on each side about 3 inches apart. These bumps are stagered on each side to make the removal a easier. (They are not right across from each other)

2)To start taking the white trim from the silver trim track insert a screwdriver in where the silver cap was, and gently pry the trim from the track. This should get the trim off the first few inches of the trim track.

3)I loosened the rest of the trim using a putty knife. I placed the end of the putty knife between the trim and the trim track in the lower section of the area I had already loosened and poped track out a little more, past the next nub. I then went to the other side of the track and repeated the process, altenating from side to side poping the trim out nub by nub.

This might sound like a long process, but in reality took less than 3 minutes even being very careful. After all, the trim is rather thin and can be bent or scraped somewhat easily.

4)Tighten screws on handle (#5)

5)Pop trim back in, starting on the bottom.

6)Replace silver caps.

If I can do this, you can too.

Thanks Woodchuck. I am new to the forums and had a hard time getting the diagram in.
