The lights on front of the refig are flashing and the ice door is flapping. No ice or water will come out. I un pluged the board L.V. ice 20 so the lights are now out and the door stopped flapping. Do I need to replace the Board L.V ICE 20 part #67006294? If so who has the best prices on parts? Thanks

Yes the board will have to be replaced.

Here is a link to your fridge model MFI2568AEW.

Hi there Sheila and TG33! I have the same problem with my Kenmore Elite.

Is the board you are referring to the HV Control Board? Do you know if we also need to order a new gasket, lid and box or just the Board? Did it fix your problem TG33?

I tried ordering our part from the link you have above but we live in Canada and it doesn't seem that they will send to us, so I ended up phoning Sears parts this morning and ordered the HV Control Board from them (part# 67006430)... $179.99 ouch... Is it hard to put in and does it come with instructions? The Sears person wasn't able to answer that for me.

After we replace it, will it be an on-going problem from year to year?

Sorry for my many questions... if you have any answers, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

You are referring to a totally different board than TG33. His board is in the dispenser and the one that you are inquiring about is at the back of the fridge and is the high voltage control board.

If your fridge is doing the same thing it would be the dispenser board that your will need.

Can you supply the model number to your fridge?

Because it is a Canadian model I may not be able to look it up but I will try.

Hi Sheila,

Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate it very much!

Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 596.77533600
Age: 1 - 4 years

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Kenmore Fridge (Bottom Freezer, Double Door Fridge) is almost 2 years old.

At first the water and ice maker stopped working. I dumped the ice out, re-set everything and nothing happened. But the fridge was still working as was the freezer.

Two hours later, my husband tried pressing one of the digital buttons (vacation mode I think but don't know why... he was just pushing buttons) on the front of the door and all lights started blinking and the door flap to the ice maker continuously flapped open and closed. The fridge and freezer were still running at that point.

We unplugged it and my husband opened the front panel and disconnected something that made the lights go off but allowed the fridge to still run. Only problem was that we realized without having the digital screen, the fridge would not likely cut out because it wouldn't know what the temp. was. So we unplugged it, unloaded it and called a repair man.

The repair man didn't show up Friday and cannot come for 2 weeks now. So we are really on our own.

I did some research and saw from different threads that others have replaced the HV Control Board (part #67006430) so we gave in and ordered it yesterday to a cost of $179.99 plus courier charges. It should arrive on Wednesday.

But now I'm worried about whether or not it is the right part. If we put it in and it's the wrong board, then we can't return it.

What do you think? Any help you can offer would be wonderful.

If you order the wrong board it will not likely fix in to the spot for the dispenser board.

The will have a part number on it and the old one should have the same number.

If you are not sure don't put it in.

You should where a grounding strap when installing the new board.

You can purchase one at The Source Electronic Store.

Thanks for your advice Sheila. I sorted through quite a bit of info that I found out there and in the end we decided to install the HV Control Board at the back of the fridge. We knew it could have ended up costing us more if we had been wrong. But I am happy to report that it corrected all of the problems we were having: ice door flapping open & closed & lights at the front flashing. Thank you for having this forum.... we would have had a very costy repair bill or been without our fridge for much longer if not for this web-site. I am very grateful. Hope this information helps others.
