Default LG Water Dispenser Line Leak
Brand: Other
Model Number: LRFD22850
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have an LG french door refrigerator. I noticed water at the bottom of the refrigerator below the crisper drawers. I removed the drawers and saw that water would squirt out of the connector between the water holding tank and the tube when I used the water dispenser on the door. The plastic connectors are "L" shaped and have a blue "U" shaped clip on each end. I removed the clip but I am not sure how to remove the connector from the holding tank. I tried pulling them, but I am afraid to break them. I noticed that the holding tank has water and ice inside. Is it normal for the holding tank to have ice inside? I am thinking that reconnecting or replacing the connectors may fix the leak. Anyone ever experience this?

Sorry I don't have any information on the LG products.

Update: I had a repairman come and address this problem. Apparently it is a design problem with this refrigerator. The holding tank is prone to freeze up. This caused a leak when the water froze and burst the tubing. The repairman replaced the tank with a coiled up hose. I have been using it for a few months now and no further problems. The only downside is the coiled up hose does not have the capacity as the holding tank, therefore you only have enough capacity for about 1.5 glasses of water. Anything after that is not refrigerator cold.
