Default Leaking ice tray fixed, now Refrig temp issues,
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS25SGPCSS
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi,

My problem started when my dispenser tray was full of water and found to be leaking from the ice tray. Since the unit does not have a defrost timer I replaced the mother board and defrost timer, the defrost heater is working fine.

This took care of the ice tray melting issue. However, during the course of this the refrigerator was not cooling and I found that after the unit defrosts the damper does not reopen to allow for cooling in the refrigerator. My next part I am thinking of changing is the temperature control board, but wanted some input.

For the time being, I wedged the damper open and whith this open the frige cools down seemingly ok.

Apprecaite any insite you have

Gerard

Default

Check the resistance of the thermistor.

If the fridge temperature is between 32 and 41 degrees the resistance reading should be between 12 and 16 ohms.

If this checks OK then replace the control board in the fridge.
