Default Kitchenaid not cold enough
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KSRP25FNBL00
Age: 1 - 4 years

The fridge and freezer are not getting cold enough. I checked the coils in the back of the freezer and found them icy. I heard the heater kick on and it defrosted a lot of it, but not all. What should I do next? Thanks!

It is not normal for the fridge to defrost part way and then start running again.

Unplug the fridge and defrost it fully with a hair dryer.

If the heater did come on that is telling you that the heater and bi metal are working.

This would mean that the electronic control board is faulty.

Once the fridge is defrosted plug the fridge back in and let is run for a few days and see if your problem returns.

Here is a link to your fridge model KSRP25FNBL00.

I decided not to mess with it and called someone out two nights ago. He replaced the bi metal. It seems to be working now. We'll see...

Thanks for your response.
