Default Kenmore side by side no water from dispenser
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 10657562790
Age: More than 10 years

Hello, I'm new to the forum and have been doing some searching, but still need help. Now, be prepared for simplicity because I'm no repair man....I'm just not able to afford a professional right now!

So, the fridge has been working great, nice and cold, but a week or so ago the water dispenser just stopped. The ice maker works fine, but there is nothing at all from the water dispenser. My kids tell me that the dispenser had begun acting a bit wierd a couple of weeks ago, and that there was a delay of 10-15 seconds before water would dispense. Then one day...no water!

This model doesn't have a filter, and when I have tried installing an in-line filter it didn't like it...it would continue running slowly and drip on the floor after dispending a glass of water. This would stop once the filter was removed, so the filter is gone.

What do you think? Where to start...?

It is likely the fill valve at the back of the fridge.

There are two solenoid on the valve assembly.

One is for the ice maker and the other is for the water dispenser.

Check the coil with an ohm meter.

Here is a link to the part of your fridge model 10657562790.

Here is the fill valve.
