The ice dispenser produces crushed ice on both the crushed and cubed settings. I checked the solenoid and it does not seem to change position when I change selections on the door panel. This is done by holding the light in, selecting the buttons and watching the solenoid reaction. I can move the solenoid up and down manually so it seems to be lacking the input to make it change. Do I need a new board to send the message to the solenoid?

You will need a meter to check to see if there is power to the solenoid or if the solenoid is faulty.

If you have power to the solenoid but no response then you have a faulty solenoid.
