Default Kenmore Ice Maker won't fill up after harvest
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.5360201
Age: 1 - 4 years

I received the motor module and replaced it the other day because my ice maker has not been working. Nothing happended after I installed the new motor module so I read that manually filling the ice tray with water can determine if the motor is working. It harvested the ice after it froze but does not fill back up with water . I paid $73 for the motor module. I was thinking about checking the selnoid and maybe replacing it --is there a way to "switch the wire" so that the drinking water lever will fill the ice maker lines to see if there is a clog or that the selinoid works for the ice maker water inlet valve? I squeeze the water tube at the ceiling of the freezer and there was not apparent ice in it---could it be clogged or even frozen in side the freezer ceiling liner?

Please advise?

Yes you can usually swap the wires on the dual outlet water inlet valve and the water dispenser will send water to the ice maker. Here's info on the valve. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How to Check the Water Inlet Valve - ACME HOW TO.com

I noticed when I was trying to "switch the wires" that the connector harness for the water selnoid and the ice maker selnoid are two different sizes . Should I cut the wires and connect them to the opposite harness so that it will fit on the water selnoid connector?

I noticed that the connectors are two different sizes for the ice maker selinoid and the drinking water selinoid. Would I have to cut the wires and connect to the right sized conncetion harness to switch the wires?

I wouldn't cut it but you could rig it up by connecting it with wires temporarily. Or if they will swap out just swap the water lines coming out of the valve.

Ok so I could just stick spare wires intho the ice maker's selinoid connectors and rig them to the drinking water selinoid and press the drinking water lever in the front of the frig and it will fill up the ice maker? Or just switch the water the lines?
