Default Kenmore Ice Maker: No Ice
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.56702500
Age: 1 - 4 years

Note: The cross-reference for this Kenmore Elite 106.56702500 is Whirlpool KSRA25CNWH02 (the WH is White finish)

I hope this helps. I assume that water is being delivered to the ice maker. If not, that is a whole different problem! This is a relative easy fix that I am guessing Sears will charge $200 to perform (parts and labor).

1. Make sure ice maker is NOT turned off!
2. Check the optics: open freezer door
2.1. Status LED (on right) should have two pulses followed by a 1 second delay then repeated.
2.1.1. If there is no light make sure ice maker is not in harvest mode:
2.1.1.1. Press close freezer door switch (turns off light): if in harvest mode LED will flash once every second. If in harvest mode close the door and wait 5 minutes. Then test LED again.
2.1.1.2. If not in harvest mode and there is no lamp you need to order new Electronic Control Boards – (emitter and receiver): call PartSelect
2.2. Press the emitter flapper door (left side – do not block the path with your hand)
2.2.1. Two pulses followed by a 1 second delay then repeated indicates boards are faulty – order new boards.
2.2.2. The LED stays on: the optics/ boards are OK

There are also ways to test the ice maker and get a LED read-out diagnostic, but I will not attempt to describe. Just order a new ice maker PS991840.

To remove ice maker:
• Cut the power to the refrigerator.
• There is a ¼” screw at the rear right. Remove it and the cover for the wiring should come free.
• There are release tabs on either side of the tray on the bottom. Push in with your fingers and the ice maker should slide out toward you.
• Disconnect the wiring. It has a “catch” that needs to be disengaged.
• Remove ice maker from tray – there are 3 screws holding it to the tray.
• Pop off the plastic cap on the end of the old one and put onto the cap on the new icemaker.
• Secure the icemaker in the tray with the 3 (1/4”) screws.
• Plug it in to the wiring harness then slide it back in. Make sure wires do not bind.
• Replace wire cover.
• Turn on power.

Be prepared to wait several hours for your first batch of ice. In some cases it can take up to 12 hours but if your refrigerator and freezer are cold (as was mine) expect 4 hours +/-.

Hope this helps. It is a real easy fix
