Here is my PM to derkel1, I posted it here to share with the community.
Hi, I'll try to help as best as I can. The technician did the flushing, but I tried to watch close.
I have included a couple pictures to try to help illustrate what he did. I don't have the bottle or tube, so I will try to explain those first.
The bottle was a little 6-8 oz bottle that had a screw top and an attachment for a tube. The tube was small, probably only a 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide and about a foot to a foot and a half long. it had a red cap at one end and was kinda stiff for a tube. I think that it may have also been used to flush out anti-freeze or things of that nature.
The bottle was filled with luke warm water and slide into the black tube at the top, right, front of the freezer. Before doing this he took off the ice maker and the ice maker cover. The ice maker cover comes off by lifting it up and pushing it to the right, the pegs come out of the holes then. The ice maker is removed by one bolt at the bottom of the ice maker.
Once the icemaker is moved out of the way, you can easliy feed the tube into the black hose and turn the bottle upside down to push the warm water into the hose. It should then melt any ice and it should all come draining out. Keep a dish underneath the hose to catch the water and (hopefully) the ice that was blocking the hose.
Re-assemble and wait a few hours to see if your making ice again!
This is the Black tube to insert the hot water tube into!
This is the bolt to remove to take out the ice maker! It's right above my beer glass |
