My frig will not shut off unless I unplug it, I turned the switch to off and it just keeps going constantly, everything is freezing up. The freezer is so cold the ice cream has to thaw out before eating.

The refrigerator is so cold everything is freezing up (I don't even want to see the electric bill for this month) why doresn't it shut down? I cleaned and vacuumed out the coils and still having problems. Is it the thermastat?

Make sure the capillary tubing from the cold control is where it should be and not hanging someplace. If ok, you probably have a shorted cold control, just replace it. You can look that up at partselect.com, just make sure you get the factory replacement and not a substitute, and rout the new capillary the same as the old one.

Is there another term used for cold control because I do not see that listed in my parts list. I have "control Temp", "control Damper", "control Defrost
