HELP!

Due to owner idiocy, my freezer got turned off and the food spoiled. This was in August. We emptied the freezer of food and plugged it into a live outlet to freeze the liquid scum in the bottom of the freezer. Once it was frozen, we unplugged the freezer and took it outside to defrost and clean out. After it was clean, we left it outside with a bunch of baking soda in it to absorb the hideous fumes. It took repeated washings with bleach water and then leaving it for 2 weeks at a time with the baking soda to get rid of the smell. We also wanted to change its location in the basement. It took until last week to get it back inside. Now it won't turn on. No noise at all. Completely dead.

Outlet is live.
Power is flowing to the unit.

I don't have a volt meter.

My feeling is that the switch has gone bad. If it was a freon or compressor issue, wouldn't it make SOME noise? Before I go and hire an appliance repair man to come out, I was hoping you guys (and gals) might be able to give me an opinion or things to check.

Freezer is a Kelvinator (Frigidaire) Freezer MFC15M3BW2 from 1995 (I believe thats the right year).
