Side x Side unit. Temperature is OK on both sides but the unit keeps running. It may appear the unit is stuck in the defrost mode. Any advice? Thanks.

You may have refrigeration problems. Pull off freezer back panel and check frost pattern, frost all over or just partial. Also freezer temp. should be below 10 degrees.
Try cleaning the condenser coils in back and check the condensing fan .
Also check the refrigerator temperature.

I did notice some icing up on the inside bottom of the freezer. Does this unit use a defrost thermostat or is it controlled by a module? I'll also check the inside temperatures. Thanks.

You will need to pull back freezer panel and defrost coils with a hair dryer.
