I have a 9 year old side by side amana fridge that all of a sudden stoped cooling.
I took it apart and found that the coils were not frosted except 3inches of it from the feed side to the thermistat. I turned it off for 2 days and turned it back on and the fridge started to get cool again for about 3 hours or less. then it stoped cooling again with the frost in the same place. can any one help?

That frost pattern is a classic sign of low freon requiring a service man to fix leak and recharge.
