Default Internal drip
Brand: Roper
Model Number: RT18DKXFW04
Age: 5 - 10 years

There is a constant drip inside the refrigerator that is messy from the top inside from a vent up on the top. There must be a blocked drain or malfunction of the defrosting cycle but I'm not sure.

There should be a drain cup at the back of the fridge section and it is likely blocked.

If there is no cup check the trough in the freezer section.

Here is a link to your fridge model RT18DKXFW04.

I am helping Heather to fix her refer. Does this mean I should remove the floor in the freezer section by removing the retaining screws to access the drain? I don't really understand what this mechanism does. Can you explain its function? Reply to my email please.

You will have to remove the back panel.

The drain trouth catches the defrost water and is sloped like a funnel to direct the water to a tube that drains the water into a pan under the fridge.

Sorry we don't reply by email.

On your diagram of "Parts Select.com" which part number is the tube and which is the back panel you're refering to.

The back panel is inside the freezer section and it is number 16 on the liner breakdown.

The tube is a hose that runs down the back of the fridge.
