Default Installed new Ice Maker - now nothing
Brand: Amana
Model Number: ARSE667
Age: 1 - 4 years

Installed new ice maker, no sound, no nothing. Previous one was creating globs of melt below, so assumed leaks, etc... and just decided to replace the whole unit.

Last time I messed with old one while waiting for my new one (hadn't given up yet) I reconnected the harness and it just cycled continuously but pulled no water in. Installed new one, now nothing. Is this a fill valve issue? source is OK, dispenser OK, filter ok, no clogged lines.

"Installed new ice maker, no sound, no nothing".
On most maytag designs the door switch is in series w/ your icemaker. If switch is bad it won't allow power to icemaker. The valve is at thte end of the series and will not prevent the icemaker from cycling.

Try lifting the metal arm that will stop the ice maker from making ice when it is raised. lift it up just a little past the stopping point and release and let it snap down.
Do this a couple of times and give it a few hours and see what happens. That should work.

ktucker, it appears your valve is not operating. If the ice maker runs through its cycles it should open the valve for a short time to fill tray. If valve solenoid open valve will not open so no water flow. If you have a 24v AC supply you could disconnect tube from ice maker and apply voltage to solenoid, it should open and water flow (bear that in mind when you apply voltage), if no flow valve has to be replaced.
