Imperial freezer. My neighbors gave it to us last week. It seems to be getting cold, but the door shelf area is still warm. Mine the door seal is not sealing properly. I can see a gap along the bottom left hand side of the door. Is it possible to replace the gasket? Or can the doors be adjusted slightly? I would call the repairman if it was new, but don't want to invest a lot of money on a free, old freezer.

Can you please supply your model number?

Get a thermometer and put it in the freezer to see how cold it is.

A small gap in the door should not effect the temperature a great deal.

I don't see a model number or serial number listed anywhere obvious. The back says the 64 1/2 inch tall model takes a F122543-4 gasket, a F120061 Cold Control, a F59348 Dryer and a F83897 Condenser kit. Now that I have turned the temperature down as low as it goes, the door shelves that had water condensing on them now have an ice layer. Could the indoor temperature / humidity have anything to do with it? The window Ac's are having a hard time keeping the house comfortable. My guess is that it is 95 F outside and maybe 80 inside.

Yes the temperature would make a big difference.

The gasket is available but if it is not damaged it is likely the door needs to be adjusted.

If the gap is small you may just want to stick something in behind the gasket to bring it out some.

Adjusting the door can be a hard thing to do because it is done with the screws holding the gasket in place.
