I too am a new member an I am having the same problem as you with the exacT
model number. I took the inside back panel off and defrosted the coil for about two months before discovering that it was the defrost heater and thermostat assembly. I just ordered it today and will be putting it on tomorrow. It states that it will take one to two hours to repair but once you defrost it I really don't think so. Like I said in the beginning I am a new member of just one day an I have already benifited. GOOD LUCK.

The part cost me thirty-three dollars. You can order it from any appliance parts dealer. I figure the problem out by defrosting the coil with the back panel off of the inside of the freezer with a fan. After doing that I watched to see what was happening and the coil started to freeze up again and then I noticed that there was a heating unit in it . That is when I thought about no water ever draining underneath the refrig so I figured that the unit wasn't working and long and behold I was right. I replaced it already and it is working prefectly now.

HI
WHat you need to do is get in contact with the appliance dealer and they will tell you what you need to do. I could give you the number that I orderd but it might not be the same number because it might not be a genuine maytag part where you get your from. The dealer ask me for my model number and the serial number then they found the part number themselves. When you get in contact with them just tell them that you need a defrost heater & thermostat assembly unit and they'll do the rest.

The temperture in my meat drawer is 34 all the time and the temperture in the produce drawer is at 31. I always try to change the temperture but that is the way they always are. So I just put the meat into the produce drawer and put the produce in the meat drawer.
