Default Icing Problem
Brand: General Electric
Age: 5 - 10 years

My side-by-side GE work fine other than an icing issue on the freezer side. Ice forms on the bottom during defrost mode. I cleared the drain out and the freezer goes into defrost mode just fine. No icing on coils. The water drips down to the bottom during defrost mode but does not seem to want to go into the drain. It just pools and freezes there. Almost as if it freezes before it even has a chance to flow into the drain. I am not sure what else to check. Any ideas?

Check the unit for level. Adjust the legs to make the water flow to the drain.
