Default Icemaker water overfill
Brand: Amana
Model Number: br22s6w
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi,

I have an Amana refrigerator (freezer on teh bottom) with an icemaker. My problem is the water is overfilling the icemaker tray, about a 1/2 to 1 cup too much. The tray is not cracked and the ice is the right size.

Can you adjust the amount of water the water inlet valve (i believe part # 10524606) allows into the icemaker? Or can it be adjusted on the icemaker?

Before i get the water value (10524606??) i want to ensure that a simple adjustment could cannot be made to solve the problem.

Also does it sound like the water valve needs to be replaced or the whole icemaker. Water is going in, just too much.

Thanks for your help..

The ice maker controls the time of filling the water. Take the plastic white cover off the ice maker and see if you see an adjustment with a +/_ on it and turn it toward the _. If you don't have one you will probably have to replace the module.

Here is a link to your fridge model br22s6w.

i took off the white cover on the icemaker and found the only adjustment was for cube size. i turned the adjustmentment to make the cubes smaller but the ice maker is still sending way too much water into the process.

do you think that the water valve controls the amount of water? it seems to me that ii may and it would be a $50 fix verse replacing the entire icemaker.
