Unhappy Icemaker stopped completely
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KSRA251LBT
Age: 1 - 4 years

Have a relatively new KitchenAid Superba with icemaker in the door.
After replacing the water filter, the icemaker stopped making ice altogether.
Removed the filter and it began producing ice, however the cubes were small
and rather deformed. We then removed the icemaker module for cleaning and
defrosting. No change in the size or shape of the ice. We thought not enough water was filling the tray due to an occlusion. Tried the hair dryer on the feed tube
and roof of the freezer. No change. After 10 days of regular production (but still
small irregular cubes) it stopped making ice completely. The last batch never dispensed and was stuck to the dispenser prongs. What next???

Hi,

How is your water pressure to the refrigerator?
The icemaker fills on time, 7 seconds. If you do not have good water pressure then it will not fill with enough water.

Also check the freezer temp. It needs to be 0-5 deg. F to cycle the icemaker.

Thanks for the tips. Water pressure is fine and freezer is set at 1 degree Fahrenheit. Any further suggestions would be welcome!
