Question Icemaker sticks on
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JCD2289AES
Age: 5 - 10 years

3 problems: #1: Most annoying - the Icemaker sticks on when dispensing water. I have to open the door or press on the Actuator Pad 2-3 times to get the water to stop coming out. I took the fountain assembly apart once over a year ago, all parts looked fine. I cleaned the actuator pad and used some silicone spray on the plastic switch thinking it was getting jammed, but no help.
#2: When getting ice, there is a loud buzzing noise. No problems getting the ice, just the loud noise.
#3: I read reports of the water dispenser coming on all by itself. This happened to me in the middle of the night. I woke up right away (thankfully) due to the noise and cleaned up the mess. This was about 3 yrs ago and no recurrence. Should I be concerned?

I've read the posts on this model # and I'm not sure which parts I should replace. btw - great reviews on this forum!

Hello KjKnoop

Change the PS107297 Ice and Water Dispenser Actuator Pad - black

The buzzing is the solenoid that opens the flap. (normal)

P.S. Always disconnect power before service.

hope this helps

Mark

Thanks Mark.

Do I need to replace any other parts (such as the limit switch - PS108940)? See comment from David From Springdale OH on 7-30-07. He replaced this for the same problem I have.
