Modular icemaker installed in freezer on bottom refrigerator does not make ice. I went on vacation, shut the water supply off, but left the icemaker on in the refrigerator. Now, the icemaker refuses to make ice. Could cutting off the water supply pressure have caused some damage to the icemaking unit. Icemaker unit is Whirlpool model 1129316 and is one year old. Any help appreciated.

Check freezer temperature, must be at least 15 degrees for icemaker to work. If ok, apply 115 volts to icemaker solenoid in the back of fridg. for 9 seconds, if no water check for a frozen fill tube or a bad water solenoid.
