Default Icemaker Problems
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 795.75549401
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hello all,

I have a Kenmore Elite that is one of those re-badged Samsung deals. We had a tech from a local appliance place out and he said that they can't get parts for it.

Anywho to the problem,

The icemaker doesn't make ice cubes. When we turn it on, we wind up with a huge block of ice in the ice tray; which would be nice if I was a sculptor, but I'm not. I'm no appliance guy but I am fairly good with tools and electronics and such, but don't want to break something trying to fix it.

Whats the first step in trying to troubleshoot the problem?

Have you watched the water fill the tray . Does it overfill and cut off or does it just keep running(dripping)
The water inlet valve is one place to start. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How to Check the Water Inlet Valve - ACME HOW TO.com
