Default Icemaker overflowing
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.9555712
Age: More than 10 years

Hi, I have a Kenmore S/S refrigerator. My problem is the water is overfilling the icemaker tray, about a cup too much. The ice tray looks fine not cracked, it makes the ice the right size. The Water works fine coming out of the door. I was wondering if the water inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator is adjustable? And if it is which side is for the icemaker and which side is for the door. Or do I just need to replace the inlet valve or is it the icemaker itself ? Like I said, it has water going to it, just too much. Thanks for your help.

The ice maker is responsible for timing the water. You may can adjust it. Take the plastic cover of the end and look for a + and _ sign adjust for more and less water. Let it run a cycle and check the water level when it fills. If it doesn't have this adjustment it controlled by a modular assembly you have to replace.

Thanks Woodchuck. I took the cover off and didn't see a + and - sign to adjust it, so I'll be replacing the unit. Thanks for your help.
