Default Icemaker not working
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFH22PRSM
Age: 5 - 10 years

hi, all. i had my icemaker replaced about 6-7 mos ago. i'm getting water from the dispenser, but no water to the ice. from reading the different threads i believe it is the valve. i ordered one from G.E. but now i need instructions on how to replace it. can anyone help? i think this forum is great. i would have called the repairman back if i didn't lose his card. i would not even have thought to try and fix it myself. again thanks for your help. liz.

Most common failures of water supply are freezer temperature too high freezing the water spout, or freezer temperature too low for the icemaker to work. Temps must be lower than 15 degrees, but not lower than around 5.

HELP! it is not the temp, it's definitly the valve, you can see there's no water going thru. the part i got from GE does not match the valve i have. when i called them they said it IS the right part. my fridge model # is TFH22PRSM. the valve i have has WR57X111 on it, the part they sent says WR57X10032 and that was in another bag that says WR57X10051(water valve kit). also my valves double receptacles? are threaded these valves have no threads. my little problem has turned into a BIG headache. i appreciate any input.

They sent you the new type GE valve that I disslike. This type has push in type fittings for the plastic output lines. Just cut off the fittings on the old water lines, make sure the line ends are ok, then just stick them in, the valve will capture and hold the water lines! Only problem, once stuck in, you can't pull them out!!
