my granddaughter turned up the temp on the freezer and a few days later the icemaker stopped working. It seems that I recall this happening once before and some one told me to unplug the frig , remove a panel ( four bolts or screws, I think) and put a fan pointing toward the inside back of the freezer.
Does any of this make sense to you and if so, where is the panel?
Will greatly appreciate any advice......

Turning up the temperature should not have any effect on the ice maker.

It may be the water valve at the back of the fridge that the water line is hooked to has failed.

You will need to check this with an ohm meter.

It may be that the ice maker has failed.
