Icemaker leak

Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: unk
Age: 5 - 10 years

icemaker makes ice but but leaks water into ice container that freeze solid

icemaker seems to work fine except it leaks into ice container. what is causing the leak?

If the water inlet valve leaks slowly it can freeze in the ice maker fill tube, stopping it up and causing the water to run down into the freezer, or it can drip out the fill tube and freeze in the ice bin. Check the water inlet valve.
