Default Icemaker flooding
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: WR30X10061
Age: More than 10 years

I was putting my icemaker back in service today, after having shut the water off months ago because I thought the palstic water tubing behind the refrigerator was leaking. It turns out that the water tubing is not leaking, but the icemaker is overflowing with water.

At first I was going to order a new icemaker, but then I notice that a valve #WR57X10033 is listed with the icemaker.

I took out the icemaker and notice that water drips out of the inlet tube that feeds the icemaker after I dispense water at the front of the refrigerator.

Does the entire icemaker need replaced? What is valve #WR57X10033? Or do I just need to let everything work through several cycles?

Did you see this picture and the descriptions of customers installing the part. This part should fix your leak.

Do you mean the valve WR57X10033?

I have looked at some pictures and instructions of that valve. I've also taken my existing valve off of the refrigerator. It now seems to me that just a replacement valve will fix my leak, and I won't have to replace the ice maker.

I'd like to make sure WR57X10033 is the right valve, though. I can not find a model number on the refrigerator. The existing ice maker is WR30X0306, and I believe part number WR57X10033 has replaced that. The valve is stamped "EATON" with the voltage and cycles.

Do not over think it. Replace the water valve only. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

If you go to this sight and type in the part number it will bring up a picture of the part and you can order it right from there...they have a pretty clear diagram for each unit.
