Default Icemaker Cubes get stuck, Bimetal switch?
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: #4317943
Age: 5 - 10 years

This Icemaker works fine accept it wont toss the cubes out. The Gear is perfect the problem is ( I feel) is that the heater coil is not functioning. I did a continuity test on the Heater it's fine. I also did a continuity test on this Bi metal Switch that feeds the Coil and it had not continuity across the brass pins.

1. Should it?, Should this bimetal switch have continuity until it heats up or not?

2. Do these switches commonly fail?

See ITEM #27 for the part I'm talking about

Whirlpool 2ET18GMXJW01 Parts List

Thanks
