Unhappy Icemaker Auger Repair
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS22SGMD
Age: 5 - 10 years

I received and replaced a broken auguer (the part that pushes the ice to the door/crusher, and I can't get the ice to crush any longer. I believe one or more of the pieces I had to remove to replace the auger stem were not put back in exactly the right order. I can't tell from the diagram on this site where certain pieces fit into the "line of order". Hopefully, someone has a more specific list of what goes where with respect to the washers, the blades, and whether the blades are installed in exactly the same position, or should be staggered. Any help would be appreciated.

How did you remove the auger from the parts that are fastened to the shaft of the auger?

Default Ice Auger

I removed the entire piece from the ice tray, took off the washer clip that held the auger stem to the tray, and removed every washer and ice crusher from the stem. Everything is now back together and re-attached to the tray, but one of the pieces must not be in the right order, or the blades must not be positioned properly because ice cubes drop when requesting crushed ice.

Hope you can help -
