Recently when we push a glass to the ice dispenser we can hear the solenoid engage and open the ice bin door, but the auger does not rotate. If you pull the ice bin assemply out and hold the door contact switch closed the motor seems to have plenty of strenght, that it should be able to rotate the auger.

when you take the bin out can you rotate the auger by hand. With it out maybe you can see what's binding it.

The only thing that seems to sometimes bind it is the ice itself. If I dump out all the ice it move freely in both directions.

Will the motor turn it when you've taken all the ice out.

Yes, with all the ice out the motor will turn the auger

Well, I would look real close inside the tunnel the ice feeds into to see if the plastic is broken or something else is blocking it.

I cant find any parts that look broken. It moves feely without any ice. When it is filled with ice it can still be moved but often it becomes difficult to turn by hand when a cube is halfway through the impeller blade. But shouldn't the motor be able to handle this, since when the flapper controled by the solenoid is shut it should be able to crush the ice.
