Default Ice & Water problems
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KSRS25QDWH03
Age: 5 - 10 years

Water dispenser extremely slow. Takes 3-4 minutes to fill glass of water. Ice maker very erratic. Lately makes only 1-2 ice cubes. Appears, very little water is getting to the ice maker. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The first thing to check is the water pressure coming to the fridge.

To do this you will likely need some help.

Shut the water off go to your fridge and remove the line.

While holding the line in a bucket have someone turn the water on and see if you have good flow.

If the flow is slow and the water line has what is called a saddle type valve replace the valve with a in line shut off valve.

A saddle valve is the type that pierces the line.

If you are on a wall check in the valve for blockage.

Thanks for your response Shiela. I will check the water pressure asap. In case the water pressure is OK, should I change dual water control valve? To Rad, No, I do not have any filter cartridge in this fridge.

I would say if the pressure is good that it would be the valve is blocked and the valve is not a serviceable part it would have to be replace.

Hi Sheila, I checked the pressure and it is extremely low. I used a saddle type valve about 10 years ago. I will follow your advice and replace it with in line shut of valve. Your help is greatly appreciated. Best regards.

I want to convey my thanks to Sheila. After changing water supply by in-line shut of valve, there is plenty of cold water in the door and tons of ice cubes. Best regards.
