I am trying to get the front plate off my refrigerator. It is the plate over the ice and water dispenser. I was told to run a putty knife around it and it would come off. It doesn't and I am afraid to force it. What is holding it on?

I have a Kenmore 106.56532400 that I bought about 2 years ago. I was just working on fixing the flap for the ice dispenser on the outside this morning (right about the time I found your post). I ended up using a flat head screw driver to pop it off. I start from the side and went down to the bottom and the popped it off. You have to use a little bit of force with it. When I heard the snap I thought I broke something but it was just on there pretty good.
