I would appreaciate any info on what to replace. my ice or water will not shut off unless I open the door or push hard on the side of actuator pad. This has been a problem soon after purchasing. Finally sick and tired of it!! Thanks Kathy

Movement of actuator pad may be in a bind, too tight, or worn. Access the dispenser by gently prying molding off exposing screws. Try to see why the switch won't go back into positions on it's own.

Hi thanks for the quick reply. I tried to get the cover (rubber thing) off but not sure how to. Pried a little with a knife but don't want to wreck it.

I'm talking about the molding or cover (usually plastic) on the front of the door above or around the dispenser opening where the water glass sits.

I tried prying the grey rubbery cover off and while doing it I pryed the whole bottom out a little way. Now it seems to be working perfectly! I guess the bottom must have been jammed in there since 1999 (new)!! Company and especially our grandkids will like it much better as it tends to freak them out when the water won't shut off!!!!
