I have a Maytag that was here when I bought the house. Recently, the ice maker and water through the door stopped working. The auger still turns and the dispenser flap opens, its just there is no water getting to the ice maker or door dispenser. I thought perhaps the line was frozen, so I unplugged the fridge for a day. Still no luck. Am I correct that there is a valve that could have failed? Is it easy to diagnose? Replace? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Before you replace the valve, make sure you are getting water to the valve. Shut off the water to the valve, and take the water line off at the valve on the refrigerator, and then get a cup, and put the line in it, and see if you have good water pressure. If everything is fine there, check the water valve on the refrigerator, and see if the screan is clogged inside the valve. If you need more instruction, I can be reached on my web site. T.
