Default Ice sheet too large
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUIS85JBL2
Age: 5 - 10 years

This is an under the counter type ice maker. It makes a large sheet of ice so thick that it cannot drop down onto the grid where it is cut into little cubes. I have checked the thermistor humidfier and its reading was within the acceptable range. Do you have any ideas what could be wrong?

Check to see it the condenser fan air flow is restricted.

Check to make sure that the thermistor is making proper contact with the evaporator.

The machine may need to be cleaned. Refer to your owners manual.
